A Passion for Soap Making

At Mavis Nest, we are passionate about creating high-quality, handmade cosmetics that are safe for both humans and the environment. Our journey began in the charming town of Tata, Hungary, where our founder, Kata C. Rigo, fell in love with the art of soap making. But it wasn’t until she moved to Rosslare Harbour, Co. Wexford, Ireland with her family in September 2019 that she decided to turn her passion into a business.

Dedication to Quality and Sustainability

In 2020, we started out as Soft Paws Cosmetics, but as our brand evolved and grew over the years, we felt the need for a new name that better represented our mission and values. So, in 2023, we rebranded to Mavis Nest. We believe that this new name truly captures the essence of our brand and its dedication to quality, sustainability and craftsmanship.

Recognition and Awards

We are incredibly proud to have been recognized as an Irish Made Award finalist in 2020 and 2022, and to have won the 3rd place for Best Crafter Stall at the Tinahely Agrishow 2022. These awards are a testament to our commitment to being an Irish made brand and to crafting our products with love and care.

Commitment to Making a Positive Impact

From our day one, we have been committed to giving back to the community, that’s why we sponsor Seal Rescue Ireland, and have organised fundraising campaigns for small Irish volunteer groups over the years. We believe that it is important to support the community that supports us and make a positive impact on the environment and the animals that live in it.

Soap Making Workshop

Opening Our First Shop

We opened our first shop in June 2021 at Wells House & Gardens, Ballyedmond, County Wexford, where you could find our handmade cosmetics, and meet our lovely pug, Pixie. Unfortunately, we had to close that shop on February 28th, 2023, but we’re excited to announce that we’ll be opening a new location in the heart of Wexford Town. This new location will allow us to continue to share our passion with even more customers and offer them an even better shopping experience.
